Finally!!!

The Fall semester is finally over! Ugh! That was tough! I went full time for Summer school since I wasn't able to attend Spring semester and went straight into Fall semester after that. That's probably the longest 7 months of my life! Just so relieved that it's over! :)

Can't wait for Christmas and the New Years to roll around, I need a much deserved vacation!

A movie that should be boycotted!!!

A movie titled "The Golden Compass", which stars Nicole Kidman, looks like a great movie from afar. It targets young children to teens, and has been compared to movies like "Chronicles of Narnia" and such....But at a closer glance the hidden message is scary, and can be almost downright frightening! Please take time to read this article and to caution everyone you know about NOT watching this movie.

Where were you when the world stopped turning?

Everybody is touched in one way or another. Most, if not everyone can remember a time when they were brought to tears, by a situation, a moment, or a person--someone or something that really made a difference in their lives and changed it forever. For me it was a song by Alan Jackson called "Where were you when the world stopped turning?"; there are times I get discouraged with school and so I listen to this song and it reminds againwhy I am getting a degree in Goverment.

Where were you when the world stopped turnin'that September day?
Out in the yard with your wife and children;
Or working on some stage in L.A.?
Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke Rising against that blue sky?
Did you shout out in anger in fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry?

(CHORUS)
Did you weep for the children that lost their dear loved ones?
Did you pray for the ones who don't know?
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubbleand sob for the ones left below?
Did you burst out in pride for the red white and blue
And the heroes who died just doin' what they do?
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer?
And look at yourself for what really matters?

I'm just a singer of simple songs; I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the differencein Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, Hope and Love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is Love.

Where were you when the world stopped turningThat September day?
Teaching a class full of innocent children;Driving down some cold interstate?
Did you feel guilty 'cause you're a survivorin a crowded room did you feel alone?
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her?
Did you dust off that bible at home?
Did you open your eyes hope it never happened;
And close your eyes and not go to sleep?
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages;
Or speak to some stranger on the street?
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow;
Go out and buy you a gun?
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watchin'
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns?
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some strangers?
Stand in line and give your own blood?
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love?

(CHORUS)

Where were you when the world stopped turnin'that September day?

Fires...Fires...Fires!

As many of you might have heard on the news, Southern California was hit hard with wild fires.
So much damaged in such a short amount of time.

The winds quickly changed directions in very unpredicatble manner, and many did not even have time to grab what was packed; clothing, pictures, toys, and other possessions all gone in a matter of minutes. It's hard to imagine just what those victims have suffered; your whole life gone right before your eyes. With the evacuation in the back of everyone's mind, it makes you wonder about your most valuable assets.

Luckily, San Diego as a whole pulled together and made the best out of a very bad situation. People donated what they could to help those who weren't as fortunate, and lost everything in the fire.

In the end I know we will all come out of this stronger than before; everyone will come out of this okay.

Please pray for those directly and indirectly affected by the wild fires.
Thanks and God Bless

Days go by....

We often take for granted the little things in life that make living really worth while. Many people get into the their comfort zone and never venture into the unknown. I hope to not to be one of those people, and I pray God will enable me to satisfy this need inside of me to really explore the world. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to go out and see the world; experience things first hand and really know what it's like to be somewhere I've never been. Seeing the world in a way only I can interpret....One day I hope this becomes reality....When my kids are older and are out on their own....When I finally achieve all my personal, educational, and financial goals....When the time is right....and when God permits.

I want to experience the world and really appreciate it for all its worth. Though the little things in life like desinger jeans, nice jewelry, and expensive cars are a temporary fix to materialistic needs...they do not fulfill the longing for this type of experience. It's hard to put into words the desire for this type of fulfillment....but its there, and unless I venture to the unknown I will never fully know the feeling.

Welcome!

Thank you all for tuning in.

I'm a freshman majoring in Goverment at Regents University; I will be starting my second semester in about a week. Their online classes are great! They enable me to tend to other things going on in my life.

I am a mother of 2, I work full time in the mortgage and real estate industry.

As you can see I am a fairly busy individual, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've always thought I had ADD because I was always into everything...but as I've gotten older I've realized, if I keep busy doing positive things, it will keep me out of trouble.

Well that's all for now...until next time.

Blessings,
Katrina
